Of course, you want to stay within your budget, but if you focus primarily on price then you may not get the features your company needs. Make sure you evaluate each system and spend the additional money if it saves time for your business. Remember, time is money. 

4. Pick a Well-Known Company

Lastly, when you are choosing your point of sale system, choose a well-known and established brand. If you choose a fly-by-night brand, the company may be out of business when need an upgrade the system at a later date, thus leading you to have to invest in a new system.
